The future of America grows up

As a child, growing up was all we ever thought about. It must be way better than having to do chores, trying to fit in at school and avoiding the class bullies.

Little did we know… we were wishing our innocent lives away.

Don’t get me wrong, life is beautiful and a blessing. But I miss the days where adults smiled down upon me and said, “You are the future of America.” As a 22-year-old, I am slowly being pushed out of the spotlight and into the workforce.

College-life was equipped with love, learning and memories to last a lifetime. It was also a time of anxiety, impossible deadlines and heartbreak. They leave that part out of the brochure.

So, now what?

Ahh, yes. A career!

Lining up a job for after graduation has been one of the most exhilarating yet difficult tasks of my college career.  There are multiple tasks to accomplish, before applying to jobs:

  • Create a portfolio (online and offline)
  • Create stationary for business cards, letterheads and envelopes
  • Master all skills appropriate for career
  • Be ready for complete financial responsibility
  • Of course, practice for interviews questions and prepare your goals

Here a few of the sites you can utilize to find jobs in the public relations world:

https://hoojobs.com/

Don’t ever give up on your dreams. Even though we may not be kids anymore, we can always follow our dreams and strive for happiness.
